the Mexicoast dream originated from my travels throughout the USA and the Baja peninsula of mexico back in the early 2000’s with my wife Linda With all the great little Mexican eateries in the southern states of the usa and my first trip to Baja I became enamoured with the tastes,sounds and colours of Mexican culture When I returned home I searched for great Mexican food but unfortunately couldn’t find much at all that even came close So it was then the dream to open our own little cantina was born. One night whilst dreaming (as I do ) the name Mexicoast popped into my head. It sparked the flame that eventually led to the fire to open mexicoast I called my lifelong best friend jim and his wife yvette and he laughed and said your an idiot. Within 6 months the 4 of us as a team opened our first Mexicoast cantina in terrigal beach. Early 2020 we made the decision to shut our terrigal restaurant and move it to our spiritual home of toukley where we have been part of the community since the early 1970’s Bringing Mexicoast to Toukley has been one of the things we are most proud of doing as all of us have a huge love and passion for the town and the people of this wonderful community Nestled between the Tuggerah lakes and the mighty Pacific Ocean Our dream together has been to really put our love back into toukley and the northern end of the coast and do all we can to create a vibrant and enjoyable meeting place for locals and tourists alike and for all to enjoy the wonderful food,beers,cocktails and company that mexicoast has become synonymous for.
